Nice, thanks for showing this photo Sven. There is still much to learn about the structure of the HJ.

I wonder what made him say that? Bizarre... On my hard drive alone I have documents showing the existence of two Gefolgschaften with numbers higher than that (43 and 46) and there's also a Fähnlein 70. Buttons must have existed for these boys. Or does he mean that 39 was the highest he has physically seen i.e. actually had in his hands?

Not that there's actually any argument anyway when you look at Sven's photo of course

Yes, I think that was meant

In my opinion it's hard to find buttons with higher numbers because there are not so much Banne with more than 50++ Gefolgschaften. I wish to find some with number 70.

As I found these at a dealer's side I became the crazy idea to collect the different buttons as well - call me a freak

I've got some of the shoulder strap buttons also Sven. They turn up on ebay once in a while for great prices. Look good displayed on the straps.

    Thanks Sven

    Here's the highest I've seen:

Bann 668 Kattowitz (Gefolg. 76 Schwientochlowitz)

It is listed in the SHAEF report but I haven't come across any other documentation yet with which that entry can be cross-referenced.
