This tutorial will show you how to upload images that are stored on your computer into threads and posts on the forum.
There are two editors: Quick Reply (a basic editor) and the advanced editor. As far as the uploading of pictures is concerned, the basic editor allows you to upload single or multiple pictures but only one at a time. The advanced editor saves you time by allowing you to simultaneously upload multiple images to your post.
Tutorial follows. Please click on the attachments to view the steps.
To open the advanced editor, click on the "Advanced" button as shown in the following picture:
In the advanced editor you still have the paper clip icon for the insertion of inline images but you also have a second method of uploading images into your post that will allow you to upload multiple images simultaneously:
A dialogue (below left) will appear when you click on the paper clip. Please note the picture types and sizes permissible on the forum. You may have to enlarge the window to see them as they are at the bottom. Click on the "browse" buttons until you have selected all images that you want to upload. Then click on "Upload". Once your files have been uploaded, click on "Close this window". Save your post. If you need to upload more than 5 images, edit your post, hit the paper clip again and restart the process of uploading images as described above. Please note the picture types and sizes permissible on the forum* You may have to enlarge the window to see them as they are at the bottom.
The forum is equipped with an automatic picture resize facility. If you upload a file which is larger than 1000x1000 pixels and 300kb the software will attempt to resize it. If the resize is impossible your file will be refused and you will have to resize it locally.
If anyone has any problems please let one of the moderator team or myself know and we'll take you through it.
