HI

I am looking at this nice BDM Climbing Winter Jacket,
-But i am not sure-
Does a faded RZM label on the inside, detract for alot of BDM Collects?
(i did notice that the numbers inked/stamped on the RZM label is still showing alittle) :)

Basically does it matter if the RZM is faded and it was a white lining?
And also the jackets inner cloth lining is a -whitish color- and i knew by reading about the BDM jacket that it was mainly issued in a light fawn color.
(But it looks very authentic to the age and wear of the jacket)

I would love to hear back from Collects of this BDM Climber jacket maybe.

Thanks

Hi
Here is another picture i requested from the seller -It's of the Diamond emblem - and it looks that it was Machine sewn.
I am Not a expert on the stitching and sewing of cloth emblems.
But would you think it's legit to the age of the BDM jacket?
And did they -Machine sewn- in War time ? Or would have it been hand sewn on the mother?

I really like this BDM Jacket :) but i just got to be sure.
*Added 2 more images just got from the seller of the inner lining and showing the -machine stitching- What do you think?

If one compares the differencess of the stiching at the RZM tag and the stiching of the badges ...

One may jump to conclusions a bit too quickly and drop it.

But if the whole item is original and you like it, and the price is right:
why don't you go for it and maybe replace the badges (and threads) with worn ones later ...

Hi

I am just wondering- The machine stitching on the Front and inside of the jacket .
Might it be original Or maybe Added at a later date?
:)

That might explain your question about machine sewn cloth badges :)

Always better to have a faded label then no label!
This one looks oke!

There are also a lot of kletterweste which never had a RZM label at all.

The insignia.. most of them where hand stitched, so machine stitching is not what I like to see in the first place.
But.. that does NOT say that this is not periode done.

They where sold without insignia and then later added.
Some originals had non at all.

Look at the total wear of the kletterweste.
Is it well used and the insignia at stiching very clean, then that is also something to think about..
The total setup should match in wear.

I have more than 12 climbing jackets ( Kletterwesten ) . None of them has machine sewn badges . I agree to Werner that most climbing jackets seem to have handsewn badges but that doesn´t leave out that some of them have machine sewn badges . Watch the difference of colour and cloth in this picture attached - each climbing jacket was a little different in cut , colour and cloth.

The longer you watch this picture here the more you will find differences among the climbing jackets . Pity that we can´t view the original colours.
