How they looked when I first got them .
Some of you might leave them as when recieved , however ; I dont recall a third row of litzen as an authorized rank .
In my opinion , at some point "post war" ...these straps had been embelished .
I soaked them for 5 minutes in warm water , then gently padded them with a towel .
I then let them dry under natural conditions for 24 hours .

Bravo Joe! Great set and nice job brightening them up. Not cheap, but I would have paid the price for the set, already had a deal in the works for the Bann Munchen set I bought so I did not try to get this set.

Thanks for sharing Joe!:yo:
And thank you for the before and after photos. Good work and well done.
One can not be careful enough while washing and gently towel padding cloth items afterwards.
I remember with horror how a 90 year old flag ripped in my fingers while I was very gently handwashing it.
It was just heavy with water and tore as I picked it up with my fingers at one end.
Since then I am so much more careful with washing. I can tell you that! :frusty:

Hi Joe,

I congratulate you on this set because it is superb.
I had it on hand at the show from Kassel on opening day and I remember its appearance.
In my case, I clean my cloth insignias and shoulder straps with carpet shampoo and the result is spectacular.
Best Regards
Eric
