Hello Steve,

I did not think to influence so many people by presenting my collection and I am happy to inspire others.

Best regards

Eric

Bravo Eric ! It's big tenacity to go ahead with this kind of high end collection (prices and even
avoid copies)!

... and bravo to the community because this is a great opportunity for the transmission of knowledge, in general, that collectors exist. Very banal what I have just written but I think it had to be repeated.

Best regards

Today was my Christmas present. Unfortunately I had to give them myself.

A merry Christmas and a good start into the new year.

Best Regards
Steve

Always nice to see material from a Reichsfinanzschule, Pimpf359.
Remind that even in about 1990 not many in the TR collecting-world
knew what the abbreviation RFS really meant. Angolia said it to be
Reichsführerschule.

I learned about it in the later 1980's. My good friend Hermann Miller,
a former student from such school (and later a customs employee),
told me the correct meaning when I visited him. With his photo-album
his straps were included. Just last week Hermann passed away with
the age of 90. He also was the person who unveiled the existance of
pilots for customs (Zollflieger). We always were in contact. I will
miss my old friend!

Bravo! Excellent set of RFS straps. I had the set from the Baker book in my collection once.

Angolia was incorrect on many things regarding the H.J.. The forum is fortunate to have many members like Wim, Garry, Widukind, and Henrik and others that speak and read German and have access to period information to share. I salute them and all members who help out here and share collections and information!

Amazing collection, Pimpf359. I enjoyed it a lot. Thanks for sharing.

Just one question: is there any difference between the two HJ motor badges that appear in your thread? There is a difference in colour, but I do not know if this means anything. Maybe a different category, a different rank?

Thanks.

The version with silver thread was originally used to denote the wearer's affiliation to the Motor-HJ (more on that here). The gold version was noted in April 1939 (Amtliches Nachrichtenblatt VII/7 dated 21.4.1939) as having been introduced to act as a qualification badge (Motor-HJ Prüfungsabzeichen).

The same regulation introduced the Motor-HJ Gebietsinspekteur badge which had metal stitching (Mattkantille) for the gold wheel as opposed to cotton.
