Look at this - BUT allready "on hold" - I have seen, that one of our members have posted something about straps like these a while ago. Is this the price to pay for such straps ??

I have just seen them now, so I can only kick my own a.. not having seen them before, and posted them in the forum - BUT BETTER LATE THAN NEVER.

I think that it is rare stuff ??

These NPEA shoulder straps were for sale on the Net since 3 years and nobody wanted them until the last week.

here is the reasons :

- The high price for the mediocre condition (for the blue)
- The ignorance of the collector

Hi Widukind

For sale in 3 years - that is a long time, but as you mention, maybe the Price was to high for straps in this condition. I.m.o. they must be rare, and rare items demand much Money. Are they rare at all ??

I am not quite sure that I understand your remark "The ignorance of the collector". Do you mean that no collectors want to buy this kind of straps ?? (Ignore them) I must say that I only know them because of this forum, I have never read about them before, and before membership of this forum I would not have notised them at all.

Hello Michael,

when I said "ignorance of the collector," I meant that collectors are buying only what they know.
What they don't know or what they have never seen, people would be tempted to say "this is not possible or it is fake !."
I also confirm you to the rarity of these shoulder straps.

Best Regards

Eric

Not knowing that items exist at all is one thing.
You can call that ignorance because the info has been out for quite a while (at least here on this forum).
But there might be an other reason why not many collectors go for these rare items:
They are just not as eye catching as other HJ and DJ straps. They are not bi-coloured as the normal HJ or DJ ones.
There are no numbers, no oak leafs, no letters, no colourfull pipping - there is nothing eye catching.
Only one plain colour. Even the shape is less interesting than normal HJ ones. To me they look like cheap props from a small theater (Theaterrequisiten).
Younger collectors might even think that these might be easy to fake and stay away from these straps because of that reason.
Not everything that is very rare is also very expensive. The price is normally driven by the demand. If nobody asks for these
-or buys these when offered- the prices will be decent compared to the rarity. And one can not be certain this will change dramatically in the near future.
These are just my impression and ideas as a non HJ-collector.

Hello Christian,

you are absolutely right on all points, and thanks to the forum, the prices will go up even for items that did not represent any interest in the past.
I feel a little guilty and responsible now by attracting the lust. :h

Best Regards

Eric

I have seen these for some years on that site, and I knew and understood what they are. I am not an NPEA specialist so I did not buy them years ago when they first appeared.

I must say I am really pleased to own these straps they go really well with my other Npea items.:eng
