.... Its those sellers that do it and then say they got it that way that there are issues .
What will the guy, who buys this from Weitze say when he sells them in 2 years time? "I got them this way!"

Any multi piece item, that "could" be added to/tampered with, must surely be looked at knowing, that it is in all likelihood a put together item after the war. Either by an innocent collector who just wanted to "add back the three pips" or a dealer who added three pips to coin an extra 50 bucks.

It`s really only the gullible that collect these multi piece items who stand fast that "alterations were done pre-1945"
Those who "want to believe" Eben.. the gullible. And it is the gullible, that dealers feed off - always has been.

True. When it comes to a direct fight between money and history, money seems to get the most wins. Wrong but sadly true.
