    My mum was REALLY envious of her brother who was in the HJ. As she was too young to join the
    JM
    she pestered her mother to take her to a Kinderschar group.

    Once she found out that they spent their afternoons sticking shapes instead of hiking and climbing trees and she lost interest and didn't go back.

    She doesn't recall any kind of uniform or badges in her group though.

    Ah, understood :) Nice pics. Where in Germany were they located? I don't know whether your aunt and uncle are still alive but did/do they talk about the time they spent in the Hitler Youth much?
