Abzeichen für ehemalige Militärschüler
The insignia for former military students
On 9 May 1941 a command was signed to launch a special badge for identification of the former students of the Fliegerteschnishen Vorschulen [Aeronautical prepatory tecnical schools] that were provided in accordance with their special training to use in the airforce technical service. The badge should be worn on the left upper arm of the Tuchrock [cloth coat] and the Fliegerbluse [airman blouse] midway between the elbow and the sleeve seam of non-commissioned officer and enlisted men during the entire duration of their service obligation
Officially it was described as follows: " In dull gray cotton embroidery a three-bladed propeller on a round gray-blue cloth underlay [Tuchunterlage] of 5.5 cm diameter. To the left of the vertical upward standing propeller are the letters "Fl." on the right side a "T", and between the wings standing down a "V" embroidered in dull gray cotton.”
Contemporary originals in aluminium embroidery exist.
Permission to wear the insignia was written in the Soldbuch.
