HJ golden leader sports badge - high serial number 14853

This was found by a detectorist in a field in Germany. Check out the serial number. It blows away Niemann's figure of 12,000 awarded and also the theory that numbers above 12,000 were made but not awarded.

Wow. Detectoring in europe must be such fun as long as ya don't get blown up :tongue_smilie:

That happened recently in Spain with Spanish Civil War granades... the result.. well you can imagine.

About the badge... were those given up to april 1945? or was stopped well before?

I can beat the number too..

This one is worn by a former member of a HJ group from Bayr Ostmark.

Bought it straight from his son, so no unworn piece here.
Unfortunately he did not kept the papers (or yet to be found) as he did with a lot of his other badges.
