These seem to be popping up more frequently. Winkler has three he is offering, of which only one is numbered and one is purportedly from Philip Bouhler. Only one is numbered and none have any precious metal markings.

Winkler is only offering the old two fakes discussed here a few times. The Bouhler badge, was offered by WEITZE a few years ago, then went to Herman Historica auctions, didnt sell, and went back to WEITZE, where it still is. In my opinion a lousy fake as well (at least the badge is fake, whether the document is i dont know)

My apologies, I do stand corrected. Weitze was the one with the Bouhler doc and pin. I'm very new to the forum and haven't had much time to browse and search so I was unaware the two pins Winkler has listed had been discussed before.

The links in post 8 & 9 dont work anymore, but here is the mentioned "bouhler" badge on another thread, and below a screenshot of when it was back up at Weitzes... wonder where it will turn up again.. HH? or back again to Weitze? maybe one of their American helper-friends websites? time will tell....

Found another two recipients today:

Erna Pranz - BdM-Obergauführerin
Gauleiter Friedrich Rainer. The badge was presented to him on 28.6.1941 in Salzburg by Oberbannführer Danzinger (Gebeitsführer Salzburg)

I don't have the award date for Erna Pranz unfortunately.

And another: Gebietsführer Wilhelm Kohlmeyer. He was a member of the Reichstag and his bio says the following:

"...Träger des Goldenen Ehrenzeichens der NSDAP Nr. 23424 und des Goldenen Ehrenzeichens der HJ. Nr. 15"

This is potentially very interesting because we haven't yet accepted that this HJ honour badge had a serial number. I'm thinking here of badges like this:

http://www.hj-research.com/forum/f28/golden-hj-honour-badge-oak-leaves-741/index12.html#post40507

and this:

http://www.hj-research.com/forum/f28/golden-hj-honour-badge-oak-leaves-741/index12.html#post40485

This Gebietsführer knows the serial number of his badge but that number wasn't noted on the award certificate or stamped onto the badge as far as we know (certainly not onto the "585" badges). Perhaps it could be argued that back then and because of its colour, people called the normal HJ honour badge "the golden HJ honour badge" but even from the very first announcements about this badge on the RJF Verordnungsblatt it was simply called "HJ-Ehrenzeichen". With this in mind, Kohlmeyer's bio seems to be hinting that he did indeed get the oakleaf version. Whether that was in 585 gold or not is something we don't know. Definitely something to discuss though I think.

Edit 15.5.2014: I subsequently found another person who described the badge in the same way and stated that he had serial number 631. It's clear that these men were simply using the incorrect term for the badge. What they received was the HJ-Ehrenzeichen. Lists updated.

Just to add to post #12:

Gaugeschäftsführer and Gauamtsleiter Helmut Baumert. Says in his Reichstag bio that he held the "Goldenes Ehrenzeichen der HJ". He had some function in the HJ in 1926 but then became an SA man. From 1930 Ortsgruppenleiter NSDAP and then began to climb the ladder. This can't be the oakleaf badge. Must be the normal HJ-Ehrenzeichen.

Okay, let's go back to post #12 above again. The high quality original of THIS photograph of Gebietsführer Kohlmeyer shows that he is wearing the Goldenes Ehrenzeichen der HJ oakleaf badge. I'm still of the opinion that he is talking about the HJ-Ehrenzeichen in his Reichstag bio (post #12 above) and not the oakleaf badge. Kohlmeyer's oakleaf award date currently unknown.

Gebietsführer Willi Blomquist can also be added to the list as a high quality version of THIS photo shows that is indeed wearing the oakleaf version. Again, award date as yet unknown.

My thanks to Daniel (Marine-HJ) who owns the high-quality original photographs :thumb:

Possible new recipient for the list: Emil Hoffmann (second pic, top of the page). The page shows "Laut vorliegenden & geprüften Unterlagen erhielt Pg Hoffmann am 20.4.1934 das Goldene Ehrenzeichen der HJ" (according to the presented and examined documents, Pg Hoffmann received the Golden Hitler Youth Honour Badge on 20.4.1934). This must be the oakleaf version as the standard HJ honour badge wasn't announced until 2 months later. However, the photo in his party book appears to show him wearing the standard HJ honour badge. The detail isn't great though. Hoffmann also held the Blutorden. Anyone have any thoughts?

Two more possibles reported in the newspaper Baruther Anzeiger dated 17th Jan 1938:

Landeshauptmann Haake
Gauleiter Terboven

However, I suppose that we'll need photographic evidence additionally for the first two names due to the way "Goldenes Ehrenzeichen" was sometimes confused with "HJ-Ehrenzeichen" during the period. The article itself starts off with the latter and ends with the former so who knows. However, Dr Ley is a known recipient of the oakleaf version and he is also reported in this newspaper as having received a "Goldenes Ehrenzeichen der HJ". Confused... :)

Edit: here's another, SS-Hauptsturmführer Springer. I'm guessing that this is another one that is actually the standard HJ-Ehrenzeichen?

Another 9 holders added.

Also, not that we didn't already know of course, the Goldenes Ehrenzeichen der HJ was definitely made of gold. This is stated in a newspaper article from 1949 regarding the difference between that badge and the normal HJ honour badge. The gold version was a political award made personally by von Schirach whereas the standard HJ honour badge was, of course, awarded to early members of the HJ. However, this difference was often misinterpreted in the late-1940s leading to harsh punishments for holders of the standard HJ honour badge when actually, the authorities were only interested in those who were awarded the solid gold version.

Okay, we're up to 145 awardees of the Goldenes Ehrenzeichen der HJ now but I've exhausted my sources for the moment so if anyone has any new additions at any point please post them here :thumb:
