Crazy price IMO for that insignia. Someone will probably buy it. H.J. items are being listed for silly prices on some sites lately, seems to be the trend.

It`s taking the peas ... For a $700.- price tag, on an item that is worth realistically $185-225.- at BEST, it is taking the peas!
From the description:
Also stamped into the reverse is the number “73710”, which would have corresponded with the youngster’s membership number
Wrong information, damaged and very easy to find in much better condition item overpriced by more than 3 x it`s effective value. :clap2: Yes, these are the good old dealers, who know nothing about the actual items, or as is in this case, history as well, and plaster fantasy prices on their wares? It is nothing more than a poor joke.

youth items are on the up you look on any updates and the youth items sell very quickly so i think its a supply demand thing, where sellers can see the trend for youth items they rise the prices on them, sad really

Yeah, but these are everywhere, Weitze listed 5-7 of them over a year ago at ridiculous prices of 250-300€ each, and most of them are still up on his site. You can find good condition marked ones any day of the week for €150-200. Cant be supply & demand on these. Probably just greed.. the more you eat, the more you effectively need in the end.

thing is bill shea is a god to a lot of collectors so if he says its worth $700 then someone will pay it, the fact you can buy them for half that price means nothing, the way i look at it is if your dull enough to spend $700 on one of these you deserve to get caught, you havent got to be a computer wizard to find these cheaper on other sites

Hold the phone, just when you thought that THAT, was taking the peas..... Bill Shea just listed another, this time the enamel seems OK, But all the gold-wash has been rubbed off, and the asking price is only EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS!! What a :censored: !!!

They can ask for what they want of course but I hope that the customer is nowadays better educated on price.

They can ask for what they want of course ...
Certainly, in fact if you go into any shop today you`ll find the same, bananas imported from Guana, only $4,99 a bunch, yet the farmers market in Guana was charging 2 cents a bunch!
If it`s fake, there`s 10 pages of fantasy tales to read through with a grandpa Joe story in it, and when it just so happens to be one of those very seldom occurrences when a dealer actually does have an original item, the price is upped by 1000% plus 18% GST.:pound:
