Who wore my HJ Honour badge? (HJ Ehrenzeichen)

Sounds like a nice set. Do you see any leaders mentioned on the documents? You might see Zimmermann, Keßler, Schmitz, Kienert, Lauter in places where the signature of the Führer des Bannes bzw. Führer des Jungbannes was required.

I have Lauter as K-Führer des Bannes 159 as early as 02.12.1941.

Regards,
Igor

Sorry about the late reply Michael. Do you have a larger version of this one?

The flag is back by the way :denmark or you could use this one: 🇩🇰

Hi Garry
Sorry - I can't find it anymore - guess it has been sold.

I have tried to make it bigger - copied it onto a word sheet and took a screen shot from there - hope it worked out

Thanks Michael. That would be a new one for my list. Now, if some kind person could translate that German handwriting into understandable German I would be grateful

Always at your service :biggrin1:. As Michael already said correctly: Emma Nottelmann from Vaale.

If you search, you will find the following proof on a local page:
Auch die Laienspielgruppe, die Lehrer Nottelmann ab 1932 leitete, gehörte dem Sportverein an. He is obviously her father.

Vaale is a small village in the district of Steinfurt (Schleswig-Holstein), northwest of Hamburg.

Here's another one in need of your deciphering skills chaps:

He too can be helped :biggrin1:.
Klaus Beyer from Friedland.
Um, here we have a little problem.... There are at least a dozen Friedlands in Ostpreußen, Pommern, Oberschlesien, Niederschlesien, Niedersachsen, Mecklenburg... and, most famous, Sudetenland (yep, old Wallenstein's Castle and Palace).
But maybe you can pinpoint the location based on the award number.

In post # 15, the first name is definitely Herbert, not Gerhart. In # 12 I think like Henrik: Linz. I'll look at the whole thread again, maybe we can get one or two question marks out of it.

#25: Soldat M. Cordsen. Below: Anbei RM 2,- zurück, da Zweitausfertigungen / (= an) Wehrmachtsangehörige kostenlos abgegeben werden. Henrik hit it.

29801: Elisabeth Jentzen
80459: Hermann Kirchner [The place is odd, it does not exist. Only Grünenwört (Baden).]
19680: Gerhard Tersteegen, at least 80% sure, almost like the goalie.
90016: Kurt B(?)iese, Gelsenkirchen
78123: Bruno Grützmacher, Derenburg/Harz, Bahnhofstr. 8 (hard to decipher thanks to the watermark, the family still lives right there.)
30085: The place is Winsen/Luhe.

Thanks again Jack. Yes, my list suggests that this Friedland could be "Friedland, Ortsteil von Lahnstein in Rheinland-Pfalz" but I'm going to need a few more badges either side of this number to be sure.

Thanks for the other corrections :thumb:

Can you see any of the following places in the handwriting for badge 80459? Would be great to nail this one.

Hi Garry,

None of this fits the entry, that's the problem with it. I had a look in the Ortslexikon des Deutschen Reiches, and there really is every small estate with its own name in there (as you can see, there really is a lot more choice). You can't find anything, nothing for Grünenwirt or even similar. My theory is that this could have been passed on to Berlin by telephone and that Grünenwört could have become Grünenwirt, which sounds almost identical. However, this would only work if similar numbers also came from Baden.
I have attached the page with Grün* for you.
A small indication for the theory: There are still Kirchners in Grünenwört today. All right, of course I know that the name is not such a rare one . But on the other hand, Grünenwört has only 571 inhabitants (2018). ;)

Nice. Yes, that particular badge sits among a batch of badges awarded in Gebiet Baden. I just checked an old RJF map and Grünenwört was just inside the northern boundary of Gebiet Baden and part of Bann 112 so I think we can safely say that your theory is no longer a theory. This must indeed be Grünenwört.

Great, if it goes together like that.
That's the kind of research I like the most.

Same here Jack. I should really have verified that data back then but I think I was heavily into compiling the list at the time and had lots to add. That's my excuse anyway ;)

Hi GARRY , here one more for the list
