Thought this was worth creating a new thread for in case anyone uses the search box looking for this kind of info.

Original post from quartermaster UK:

Hi
I am new to the forum and was unsure where to post my query , please forgive if I have posted in the wrong place.

Can you please tell me how I can check if a HJ bayonet is genuine ?

Regards
Quartermasteruk

Guide to buying a HJ knife ?

Thanks Garry for the link it was most interesting and informative.
However do you know of a site which give advice on buying a HJ bayonet as I read 99.9% are fake.

Not to open a new thread, but I have a question.

In triangles we have Ost Sudetenland...

Is it possible to know which is the most common HJ maker? Maybe M7/13 (Arthur Schüttelhofer & Co., Solingen-Wald, thanks HO2CO2)?

Regards

Antonio

Thanks Mike, and which maker would be the more difficult to find?

Regards

Antonio

Thanks this is a great guide. I am buying my first knife next month but I will be taking advice from the experts here :001_smile:

Iam sure there is many out there still unheard of, you occassionally see makers never before encounted, cottage industries to huge factories i guess
