Hello,

Great photograph from HJ in the dark-blue uniform.
Is it possible to get a sharp close-up from the door with national eagle emblem.
Can you read what is written beneath the eagle?
Just curious to know!

thanks in advance, Wilhelm

Hello Albrecht,

As I saw the photograph I thought it could have been a fire-brigade unit for
the "Deutsche Reichsbahn" and I am convinced for 90%, as in my opinion the
eagle is the decal for the "Deutsche Reichsbahn" trucks and the text upon the
door may say:
Werkfeuerwehr
Reichsbahnausbesserungswerk

I do not know what the exact difference would be for Austrian in contrary to
German fire-brigade uniforms, but what I see here is that there are less buttons
with the tunic. Normally there are more with the German fire-brigades uniform.

Could be. It is a possibility, as they do not wear the regular fire-brigades
police-style eagle upon the left arm. From a distance it looks as the other
insignia could match the insignia for fire-brigades.

Werkfeuerwehr could be translated as the fire-brigade for the "factory".
Ausbesserungswerk one can translate as repair workshop.
