When I bought this photo from this HJ member, I was thinking he was wearing a kriegsmarine cap, but then when I had it scanned I noticed it couldn't be a kriegsmarine cap and looked more like a Reichsbahn or Reichpost... What are your opinions on this one?

I would bet it is a Reichsbahn cap with a metal cockade .

Not DAF ... It is Reichsbahn or Postal . Look at the direction of the eagles head .

DAF no chance, as the eagle would have the wrong form.
Postal: neither as hardly ever a field-cap was worn by postal
employees. I have many postal photographs. None shows the
field-cap in wear.
Reichsbahn is a good possiblity, but I would rather prefer to
say Strassenbahn, as with regularity HJ-members served with
tramways.

Could you post an Strassenbahn headgear pic? never seen one

Hello Albrecht,

I only can show close-ups, as these photos are "under embargo" for a next publication
(photo-credits mr.Ott).
First two is Klein- und Privatbahn, second is Reichsbahn and the last three is Strassenbahn.
Instead of the cloth eagle, the metal version was often used.

For me not such a mystery Albrecht. Just the exact possibility is not known too me!
I hardly found evidence for youth within Reichsbahn or Kleinbahn, so for me my guess
is Strassenbahn.
Most persons do only concentrate at one subject, like most here just HJ, but I am
interested in uniforms in general, so from all possible TR-organizations that existed.
There are not much organizations from which I do not have any uniform-regulation!
My personal interests are HJ, SA, RAD or so, but also the regular state-organizations.

Thank you Wilhelm for your valuable information. I am quite sure I saw a photo of a HJ boy working on the S-Bahn in a period magazine once and I will try to find it.

Today I noticed the guy of the photo is from bann 140 Königsberg in der Neumark with a population of 6500 in 1939. The town was quite little so it is not possible he was on trainways, because that town don't had it. S-Bahn could be aswell regional trains?

Here's a pic of a BDM girl wearing one of the dark caps. This one doesn't appear to have a Litze though
