Hello all!

Just registered in this forum and it looks to be great place for information!

Here is a pic where HJ Hauptbannführer Dr. Karl Werner Gauhl can be seen (not too nice man, involved in T4 program).

Can anyone confirm which patches/badges/awards/ribbons he has on his uniform?
Is the big sized on left breast pocket Gau Treffen Braunschweig badge?

With best regards,
Miikka

Yes SA Treffen with an HJ membership and standard party pins .

Thanks!
Any change to figure out which ribbons are on his ribbon bar?
Or on which area he was a Hauptbannfuhrer?

on which area he was a Hauptbannführer?

Hi,

His sleeve triangle shows his Gebiet as being Hessen-Nassau (13). This was within Obergebiet West. He was the provisional ('kommisarischer') Gebietsführer (in the ranks of Oberbannführer and Hauptbannführer respectively) of Hessen-Nassau between 1939 and 1943:

Looks like the SA TREFFEN BRAUNSCHWEIG 17./18. OKTOBER 1931 tinnie on his left chest. He has the tradition stripe on the lower edge of his sleeve triangle denoting that he was a member of the HJ before 30.1.1933 (he actually joined in Dec 1932). He was awarded the KVK II and I without swords in 1941.
