ive allways wanted a training rifle from the period, heres a photo of some lads cleaning there rifles, not sure if its an airriflr or 22. trainer or an ordinary k98, what do you think?

Nice picture , i dont know what type of rifle that was but i sure hope it was unloaded

Looks like a caliber .22 rifle. Maybe a Mauser model DSM 34 (Deutsches Sportsmodell). Varius small caliber rifles were made for SA and HJ training.

It looks like there shoulderstrap number is #6 Berlin area.

Bringing this photo back after adjusting the constrast, I believe the instructor is showing the guys how to adjust the rear sight of his KKW .22 rifle. The KKW was designed to simulate the features of the K98k and featured an adjustable rear sight.
