Did all all HJ/BDM members have to fill out one of these out so the family lineage could be followed before acceptance into the various youth groups was allowed ,

Cheers ........Steve

Hi Steve,

You get some interesting stuff :) The Ahnentafel was introduced for the Hitler Youth by the RJF on the 12th of June 1936 for HJ, DJ, BDM and JM leaders from the rank of Gefolgschaftsführer (and equivalent) and upwards. It was a response to the 'Nürnberger Gesetze' (race laws ) introduced nationally in 1935 which stated, among other things, that each German had to be able to prove his/her lineage going back to 1.1.1800.
