Hi all,

I would like to show you this interesting Document or Urkunde given to a Flakhelfer for the good results in the identification of airplanes in a particular military Campament. This document could be seen also in page 124, Volume 3 from the book: “Youth led by Youth” by Philip Baker.

The signature ist from Generalleutnant Walther Moritz Heinrich Wolfgang von Axthelm.

The translation is (please, correct me when wrong, thanks!! It is the best way to learn)

“To the HJ member B.M. in recognition for his achievement in the identification of airplanes in the military campament. Huysburg, 14th November 1943.”

Huysburg is a German city located around 60 Kms, southeast from Braunschweig.

Best Regards

Antonio

Interesting document. Wehrertüchtigungslager (WE-LAger) could be translated to "military training camp". In this case a Luftwaffe camp.

I don't know if he was a Flakhelfer at the time when he was at the WE-Lager.

I am not quite sure what Baker means with his text: ...proving that a General [von Axthelm] can always 'pull rank' - even with a Printer! Is it because a high ranking officer signed this kind of document, even if it is a printed signature?

...
