He is not mentioned in the German wargraves register, but there is a Josef Haistracher, KIA 9 November 1943. Maybe a relative, Haistracher seems to be rare name.

Thanks for the info. So I guess the SS used HJ kids as radio operators. Wonder how he was killed.

Edit: There are only a few hits on the German telephone book website. I could send a copy to the people and ask if it's a family member. Maybe they would be interested in telling me more if I found the right one. Couldn't hurt to politely ask.

OK I'm bumping this thread because the item arrived. It is indeed a newspaper clipping. Wonder if the back says anything interesting.
