Sehr schöne Ausweise !
Was ich nicht verstehe, das Seesportabzeichen ist ein Stoffabzeichen, also ohne Nummer, aber in allen Ausweisen ist eine Nummer eingetragen.
Hat jemand eine Erklärung?

Hi Atze,

The number just links that person with an entry in the register. I guess that they put the serial number on metal badges because they could be lost. If you lost a cloth badge you had more than likely lost the whole shirt :)

Just a little info on the Seesportausweis kindly shown above by "Jeffred" and "Ausweis": these were introduced by Reichsbefehl RJF 11/41K dated 24.2.1941 for members of the Marine-HJ who held either the Seesport badge or who had qualified for either the A, B or C Seesportprüfung. Not rocket science but if someone needs the exact reference there it is.

Edit: amended my original post because it read as if I was talking about all of the documents on this page.
