Helllo Lauri,

not easy to find with the RZM tag. After all these years, leather is often in bad condition. Congratulations !

Hi Lauri,

Very nice. Is this possibly the pouch for the HJ/DJ Dienstkontrollbuch (Dienstkontrolltasche)? Here's its introduction in 1939:

As you can see, there were other types in use use prior to this one.

Nice addition to your collection Lauri.

There existed various pouches and cases (see early photo from
January 1934). For example for maps, but also for doctors and
such (Sanitätstasche/Ärztetasche) or to carry stuff (Packtasche).
The Dienstkontrollbuch is not that big (about 10 x 16 cm). About
the same forms were in use by the SA.

For example to carry the HJ-flag.
Such a case was introduced in in late 1934. The case with the photo
of post 1 seems quite large, next to the dagger.

The shown case from post 1 is a 1941 product from a leather concern
(L2 - Lederzeugfabrik), being Hans Hofman senior from Forchheim
Ostfriesland).

This is the below case (Meldekartentasche) as shown in "Uniformen der HJ"
from 1933. See the height of 22.0 cm.

Another interesting item for you collection Lauri. You have a keen eye for items in the best condition that meet regulations. Congratulations on the addition.

Thank you all for your comments and additional information. I really appreciate.
I notice that the Meldetasche is the same size as the HJ Meldeblock (height 20,5 cm x width 15 cm).

I found a little more on this today. In June 1939 Gebiet Baden reported that the introduction of a standardised RZM-compliant notebook pouch had been delayed due to material shortages and a lack of agreement on the proposed appearance and dimensions. As a result it had been agreed that unit leaders could procure suitable items from local sources. The only proviso was that they should be black and that the dimensions should be around 23x17cm. It was also agreed at this time that such pouches would not be considered as non-RZM compliant once the official version was available and so could remain in use until worn out. After that, the RZM-compliant version was to be procured.

I am attaching pictures of my bag. It is black and also has the typical white leather inside. The dimensions are 23 x 17 cm.

Hello Lauri,

I don't think it's fake leather but late war ersatz leather. I hope I have interpreted the words "Fake leather" correctly, I think that's what you meant.....
