Hello,

Several brands of flashlights were used by the HJ. Pertrix was one of them.

Nice. As you say Lauri, there doesn't seem to have been a 'HJ' torch. There certainly isn't one described in the regulations anyway.

But there was nice official torch advertising from Daimon for the HJ.:good:

Herbert

Just in case, I'm pre-empting the fantasy merchants:

Damn... the story.. I forgot that :)

Well, all I can tell you at the moment is that the torch is RZM-marked as you can see. What you can't see on that picture is a very small RZM code: M5/1003. This corresponds to the firm of Paul Schwindler, Wangerooge. This very small island on the north German coast isn't known for heavy industry these days but back in the early 1930s there were around 25,000 workers employed in five or six large factories and a couple of very small ones (Paul Schwindler owned one of these) producing all manner of badges and equipment for the NSDAP and worrying about the next storm surge.

Once the last oak tree had been felled and burned, these factories had to close and the only manufacturer to survive was Paul Schwindler. Oh, my picker also tells me that it was taken from the cold dead hand of a Werwolf boy. Does $975 sound fair?

I have this Pertrix with an embossed swastika on the screw cap.
Is this HJ or more likely SA ?

Regards,
Chris

Hello Chris,

For me these Pertrix flashlights with hakenkreuz on the top are not affiliated at a specific branch of the NSDAP (but they have been used by many of them!).
