Closeups of eyelets and manufacturer's name are on the backside. This area shows wear and discolorations, and appears to have been mounted.
Note - the closeup of swastika is in higher resolution, and you can zoom in to see the 7 piece construction.

There are no regulations for items like this so all we can go on is how it looks and whether there are period photographs showing them in use or a period catalogue from a firm that made banners of this type.

A quick "Google" doesn't throw up anything useful (actually nothing at all) on a flag manufacturer named Hartmann in Düsseldorf in 1938. Another thing that sticks out is the spelling of the city name: "Dusseldorf" instead of "Düsseldorf".

Hello,
I don't like the brass eyelets that have been used.
They look like something that is very common in modern flag construction.
I think this podium flag is a fantasy fake
All the best

If this were a fantasy fake, would the the materials glow under a black light? I used a black light and it did not glow. I also burned a thread with a match, and
it disappeared in an instant, as opposed to burning more slowly.

Hello,
I will try to take some pictures of the flags that I have eyelets in.
Look closely at the brass ones you have.
I dont see 70 years of patina on there.
I will try and track down the maker for you but I don't think it will be good news.

Here you go.
Here is your podium banner that is for sale:

So,
as promised here pictured under is an example of a modern flag.
Look at the eyelets they are similar to the ones you picture.
Notice the flag..it is brand new straight out of the cellophane packet..Total cost including postage £15. There are some cheaper ones on the web.

So considering the following.
I know of NO original example that has eyelets fitted.
Blacklight and burn tests are only part of your checks.
Try smelling it..does it smell like a piece of 70 year old cloth?
Does it feel like 70 year old cloth?
If it doesn't it probably isn't.

Good hunting
All the best
Doug

Sorry lclark but I agrre with Saracen about your banner. The wrong spelling of Düsseldorf, the eyelets and the general appearance is not good and not indications for a period flag/podium banner.
