Odd looking pole top. It's short and the attachment is something different. I've only had the cheap metal style with shiny plating on them. Where the plating wears off the material is like zinc, dull gray and rubs off easily.

The March 1935 order regarding the standardisation of youth flags mentions the introduction of a "new flag topper" for Gefolgschaft and Fähnlein flags. This is the stylised bayonet and the order says "will be introduced". This begs the question of why this Otto Gahr topper does not have any type of RZM mark. Its appearance, as Darin has already pointed out, would need to be explained also.

in my opinion this is an out right fake, nothing was ever stamped so incredibly crudely the make was proud of his product and I think I see soldering at the join of the holder and knife part . Joe can perhaps give a better and more colourful reason why it is bogus :canada1
