Hi to all,

Is it possible to give some opinion on this pennant. Why the blue background with the wolfsangle?

Regards, Wim

Hi Wim,

These were used by both the JM and the BDM at Mädelschaft / Jungmädelschaft level from March 1935. The regulations state that one side of the pennant could have an individual design applied to it. These designs were subject to approval.

Difficult to say whether this is an original HJ Wimpel.
I would say it is a catholic youth organisation Wimpel.
Might be from the 20s or 30s, but could be also from the 50s or 60s.
St Georg is also the patron of the Boy Scouts world wide.
I think a HJ sport shirt diamond has just been added.
These are just my thoughts.

Hi Wim

I found this one in Angolias Book, vol 2 page 243, and I think that it is your pennant - look at the not quite right line in the diamond from middle left "corner" to the top.

What do you think ???

The pennant also looks like the one in the book to me. The book credits Ed Stadnicki as the owner. He died tragically by falling down some stairs years ago, I'm sure his vast collection was liquidated after he passed away. Not surprising to see items he formerly owned surfacing now and then.
