My father visited the AHS at Ordensburg Vogelsang in 1941. Here are some postcard memories I found.

Impressive place and nice to see the inside of the main buildings. The swimming pool at the bottom of the steps was impressive too. Also the partially destroyed statues facing the sports field. Does your father talk about his time there?

Unfortunately we never discussed his HJ and Kriegsmarine time. As so many, we had a complicated father/son relation. My interest about his youth starts after his death. I had to be satisfied what remains in telling to my mother. My father was a 16 years old poor orhan. One of the best apprentices in a big metall factory, producing tanks and locomotions. He was send from his employer to Vogelsang for a relative short time, I guess. He didnt access any eximination, but this AHS education was helpfull in his later dominating career after 1945 in his former job.
