Note: Sulzbacher Waisenhaus at Sulzbach-Rosenberg. Was apparently an orphanage used to house younger children from NPEA Potsdam due to bombing in 1941/2.

Garry, I've seen a Gebeitsdistrict triangle for NPEA Ilfeld in photos. Would there have been triangles for each of these schools? Or would some of them have just worn the NPEA triangle? I wonder what criteria was used to determine if a school got it's own triangle.

Hi Garry,
according to Weitze,it would seem that there would have been another NPEA school in Bensheim.
This city is located in the district of Hessen-Nassau near Mannheim,Germany.
I don't have more informations at the moment.
Best regards

I believe NPEA triangles are among the rarest triangles to find.

This would be my choice : Kuttenberg ( Kutna Hora ) NPEA Böhmen
But that's probably only funny to dutch people...

Yes Darin. The regulations I have here showing the details of NPEA uniforms on their introduction in 1937 state that the triangles had NPEA and the respective school name.

Greetings,

for many photos see "Ullsteinbild" and "Bildarchiv Preussischer Kulturbesitz".

Both photo online databases concern to very many photos reg. the terms NPEA, and Napola.

In the Ullsteinbild database is a very nice photo of a member of the NPEA Oranienstein, showing the triangle...

To sorry, I am not allowed to post the direct links.

P.S. My mothers elder brother H. (1933-2008), was a scholar in the NPEA "Spanheim" , in Kärnten, Austria.

I like to scan and share some photos later, please be patient... :001_rolleyes:

Hi Häwelmann and welcome to the forum. Posting links to those particular websites would be perfectly okay.

It would be great to hear more about your uncle's time at Spanheim.

The list in post 1 has been updated and now shows all currently-known NPEA. There are still some dates missing which future research will hopefully correct.

Just a quick update on Oranienstein: the founding date of NPEA Oranienstein is noted in the book 'Chronik der Volksschule (Hindenburgschule) Diez 1934 as being the 1st of April 1934. The list previously had this date as July 1934.

Also, NPEA Lambach is shown in Hilgemann's 'Atlas zur deutschen Zeitgeschichte' 1984 as having been in use between 1942 and 1944. The list previously showed: 'NPEA Lambach planned for Gau Oberdonau for 1940. Unconfirmed as yet' which came from the 'NPEA Daggers' book.

It's missing a few but shows where the majority of them are...

sorry but I prefer this overview because the card you showed is too rough.....!

In my "Handbook" I mentioned in footnote 226 a list, which was published
in the RAD Verordnunsgblatt from May 5, 1942. Further other sources were
mentioned. For those interested:

Very useful Wim. Many thanks. NPEA Vorau wasn't on the list in post #1 so I've updated it :thumb:

Just wondering whether this NPEA wore the "NPEA Wien-Theresanium" triangle. It would appear that the Wien NPEA had a hand in gaining control of the monastery in 1940 prior to it becoming NPEA Vorau.
