Does anyone know the exact number of triangles that existed? I know each oberbgebiet had a triangle, but what about all the schools, etc?

Within the greater German Reich I reckon it must be around 110 different triangles. Good question though. Can anyone think of any more for the list?

District
NPEA
AHS
Reichsbann
Specialist (Rundfunk etc)
RJF
Befehlstelle
Landjahr

I dread to think how much putting a set like that together would cost. It would be a great thing to aim for though.

Maybe after I finish putting a set of numbered straps together I'll go for this! (Like I will ever make a complete set of straps).

the biggest collection of triangles i saw was a member on waf called dan keeley he had about 55 i think

Many years ago I tried compiling a list of area triangles, this would be before Jack Angolia published his books.I still have it but not sure which pile its in:blushing: I will see if I can find it and post it.I know that there is at least one on the list that doesn't belong----USA.

55?
I'll see that and raise a few. :001_cool:

I have 57 on hand.

Two more that are missing somewhere between Germany and my doorstep. So much for "Registered Deutsche-Post".

And finally 3 more tough "Ost" ones that I am making a funds transfer within the next couple of days.

I think it's a self regulating collecting area. The more you get, the less you can find you don't have. And those you don't have and locate are usually pricey.

Triangles are addictive.

Kevin, it's the same for me with the straps. Some are dirt cheap and easy to find, and some next to immpossible. The prices vary wildly sometimes too, I found two signals straps for very cheap in the last month and I never see them up for sale. Go figure.

For me a lot of the of the fun is the hunt & being able to cross it off my list. Putting an "X" next to the item in my spreadsheet is pure satisfaction.

Actually having the item is a different kind of enjoyment.
