Strange sleeve triangle on Deutsches Jungvolk DJ shirt

Going by the VDU badge on his pocket he must be a member of the Deutsche Jugend in Hungary. The patch on his arm rings a bell actually and I'm wondering whether we had a thread on something similar a long time ago. I'll try to find it. Possibly some kind of VDU insignia? That looks like a "V" at bottom left but the letter at the top doesn't like a "D" or "U".
Strange shoulder straps as well, plain looking and very narrow.
