any chance of a better close-up? It could be something else.

a possible Bradley Manning thing? Badge required under Bradley, worn as Chelsea? :swissNo idea, i have never seen a female wearing a Shooting badge before, but it does look like it.

Possibly awarded to her for showing up the boys with her excellent marksmanship skills and given to her as an "honorary award" .

Was the badge reserved for boys?

Some girls were (and are) "rule breakers" (Danish: regelbrydere). Maybe she was a good shooter.

BDM and JM could not qualfy for the shooting badge under normal circumstances and I can't imagine any late-war scenario where girls were being taught to shoot and getting a badge for it. I haven't read anything about that anyway. Having said that the badge does bear a strong similarity to a HJ shooter.

Photoshop? It might be my eyes but the left and right edges of the photo look exactly the same except one side is turned 180 degrees? That's odd isn't it?
