At the moment Hermann Historica is offering a visored cap and a field-cap from
a leader from the Waisenhaus. I am informed these pieces are fake/reproductions
faked with originals as their sample.
It is a pity the name from the faker is not mentioned, but I am assured the lot is
wrong! Both caps are highly questionable. If you compare them with guaranteed
originals you know what I am talking about.

Anyway whatever: the color and material for the cap band for the visor is wrong
(it should be the green as used in the army for the cap band and be Kragentuch),
as is the leather visor. This should be fibre. As far as known the manufacturer inside
is also incorrect. Known caps are from Ahlers from Potsdam.

The field-cap has the wrong material and color under part and in spite of the hundreds
of photographs I have I have not seen such cap in wear. So, normally there would not
be a piping around the flap, or the front part. As far as known the used front eagle is
also incorrect and the grommets are in the wrong position, compared with an original
and with photographs of the cap in use.
Leaders for the Waisenhaus were since the start of the war Wehrmachtbeamte, wearing
their regular clothings/uniform. The form of caps was introduced in the course of 1939
after the NPEA-period and worn since about 1940.

Thank you Wim for your information and your clear-sightedness. It is not the first time that Hermann Historica tries to sell fake items !.
