Interesting Assmann Hitler Youth buckle - DJ to HJ conversion

    hi all
thought id show this buckle front and back as it is a nice variation that is not widely known.
the Dj buckle was decomissioned in place of the Hitler youth buckle on 4.6.1937,all youth in the HJ and DJ would from that point on wear the HJ buckle, if you wanted instead of buying a new HJ buckle for your son you could have your Dj buckle converted fro a small fee .
there were 3 firms approved to do the conversion... Assmann, Overhoff and Dicke.

Any idea how this conversion took place? Was it re-stamped or did it have a new piece fit over the front? By the way, great buckle you have there, never seen one like that before.

Looks good from the front. Who would know it's a converted piece just by seeing it in wear?

Looks like these were made like the one shown below where the emblem is a seperate part. This is a relic buckle I found on a detector trip.
