Most of you have seen the Late War German propaganda Newsreel clip of the Iron Cross awards presentation at the Fuhrerbunker on 20 March 1945.

( I am not that computer savvy , so if someone can input the film clip from Utube to this thread it would be greatly appreciated ).

I have always wondered what type of uniforms were actually worn by the 20 Hitlerjugend soldiers that were there at the bunker complex on 20 March 1945 for the EK 2 awards ceremony .

I have reviewed the film clip several times and this is what I have come up with .

___________________________________________________________________

" HJ Uniforms worn at the Fuhrerbunker Iron Cross Awards Presentation " .
___________________________________________________________________

1.) HJ Winterbluse with front buttons .... 9 .
2.) HJ Zippered front dark blue ski blouse .. 1 .
3.) HJ Leaders 4 pocket Service tunic ..... 6 . *
4.) Heer Model 1944 2 pocket waist tunic . 1 .
5.) Heer Model 1936 4 pocket tunic ......... 2 . **
6.) Luftwaffe blue-gray Fleigerbluse ........ 1 .

* Concerning the 6 HJ Leaders 4 pocket uniforms ...these could also be SA -
4 pocket tunics , I cannot tell as the film clip is a bit blurry .

** These uniforms seem to be stripped down Heer M36 tunics with the
early dark green collars , but could also be NPEA uniforms .

Does anyone know of an uncut version of this Film ?
( I have seen it once 20 years ago)

Does anyone have a more accurate opinion ?

If so , then please post .

Thank you , Joe

Can someone with some computer skills imput the filmclip that is on Utube of this event to this thread ?

I am not that computer skilled.

From a still photo from another site that I researched , at least 1 Hitlerjugend was awarded the EK 1 ..... the HJ leader wearing the HJ Officers visor in the lineup from this group .

I always tried to pick out the uniforms as well, but never thought of posting the above question. On a side note, I was able to correspond with one of the HJ members that was there for the ceremony. His name was Armin Lehmann, and he wrote a book titled, "Hitler's Last Courier." If I remember correctly, he said that the ceremony was held about two weeks before Hitler's actual birthday, I guess when things were a bit safer outside. But It's been awhile since I've read the book.

Here's a couple of stills from the event. The HJ shaking hands with Der Fuhrer is Willy Hübner.

I think the boy to the left of Hübner was named Alfred Czech. I read that he (Czech) survived the war, but threw away his Iron Cross given to him by Hitler and later regretted it. He ended up in East Germany after the war, married with 6 kids.

Update

I have the names of 4 of the 20 boys awarded the EK 2 at the Fuhrerbunker .

Alfred Czech
Armin Lehmann
Wilhelm Hubner
Erwin Schneidewig

Never saw that pic before...thanks for posting. Somewhere on youtube there was a video narrated by Armin Lehmann who describes the event. I'll try and find it and post the link...
