Seit 1910 produzierte die Firma Hausser Spiele und plastische Figuren in Ludwigsburg. Nach einem Umzug im Jahr 1936 nach Neustadt bei Coburg. Die Firma Hausser war zu der Zeit einer der bedeutendsten Spielzeug Hersteller in Deutschland. Bekannt wurde Hausser neben seinen Spielen und Bilderbüchern vor allem wegen des „Elastolin“. Das Elastolin wurde in den 50er Jahre durch neue Kunststoffe verdrängt und der Versuch einer Spielzeugpuppe, der „Bild-Lilly“ wurde kein Erfolg.
