A friend of mine has recently bought a political belt with open claw buckle, oddly marked with Assmann logo and code M5/289 U. The belt is marked L2/2619 KERNLEDER.
Taken that M5/289 is Heinr. Ulbricht's Witwe., Wien, why double maker markings? and what about that U?
I thought that it could be an interesting debate here since on another forum it has been posted an identical political belt with same markings and nobody could say a final word.
The assumption is that the belt was made after the Anschluss, so after 1938, did RZM allow a letter after the code?
