After the latest attempt to wring some actual hard facts out of the dealers in support of the 'DJ' knives they sell at hugely inflated prices but for whose period existence and use there is no verifiable evidence I thought it would be a good idea for us to pool our resources and thoughts and have a go at some other Hitler Youth collectibles which never seem to convince the collector. I'm also looking for items which are generally considered to be fakes with the aim of collating what we know into one thread on each specific item. There are countless threads out there which often tail off with nothing really being achieved so it would be good to tackle these items properly.

So, I'm looking to compile a list of items initially in this thread and then I'll split the items off into their own threads where we can discuss them. I'll link to those discussions from here. Please add your suggestions in a new post below with a picture of the item where possible.

Running List:

Good idea :first:
The 1936 Hochlandlager Tinnie/Eventbadge comes to mind, but thats already got its own Thread

The Golden HJ badge(s) with Oak leaf border that is NOT in solid gold

All added. Many thanks guys.

So what we need for these new threads are copied passages from previous threads plus any new information. What we want to end up with is the current state of play. The threads will be updated as new information turns up.

What I would like to achieve is to keep the reader in one thread and not send him off to 5 different threads. With that in mind, each of these new threads in post #1 should consist of information which has been copied and pasted from other related threads. This will be the bgest way to keep the reader engaged on one page I think.

I plan to add a Real-o-Meter (or something similar) graphic at the top of each thread just as a fun way of indicating the current state of play.

I plan to add a Real-o-Meter
Lord, as funny as it sounds, its exactly whats happened to the hobby, with each book, or thread where a POS gets mentioned in good light in, the more the real-o-meter rises - its not just what will happen in 100 years time with the things that collectors will be calling Legit, its whats already happened :biggrin1:
Sonny, its as Real as you want it to be..

:) I'm working on the DJ knife part of this at the moment and it's getting really dull. Perhaps it would be better after all if the main post for each 'annoying HJ collectible' contained links (to pages on hj-research - not external links). Just a short sentence to explain what's at the link plus a logical structure to the whole thing should do it.

External links to posts elsewhere are okay as long as the text within the external post is copied and pasted into the thread here on our forum.

Sound good?

Would like to add HJ rings

Thats a very good suggestion !!
Although, we need to remember that rings are a special area, meaning that the common sense code of conduct applies here.. that being:
All HJ rings are fake, UNLESS they are sold by the German dealers !! This is the reason why US dealers want 100-200 per ring, and dealers like Weitze want €450.- because only their rings..are genuine!!
