This is the earliest one I have. The words 'Gebiet' and 'Bann' had not yet been introduced and as you can see, the words used to describe the structure prior to the reorganisation of the HJ are still in use: 'Gau' and Ortsgruppe'.

HJ member number 90119. Joined 1.11.31

That's a stunner Garry. One question, when were the HJ groups reffered to as Schar? The time period is what I mean Garry.

I see the Schar first mentioned on the 4th of April 1932 Darin. Prior to that the smaller HJ groups had been called 'Ortsgruppen'. I have a book from 1938 showing the structure of Gau Braunschweig after the reorganisation carried out by Hartmann Lauterbacher (the later Stabsführer) who was the Gauführer at the time. This reorganisation was carried out by all Gaue across Germany. Lauterbacher presented his new structure for Gau Braunschweig on the 4th of April 1932. The old Ortsgruppen were redesignated as either 'Schar', 'Gefolgschaft' or 'Bezirk' depending on their size. The Bann and Unterbann would be introduced later.
