Hello, I recently purchased 2 HJ mini leistungsabzeichen. One in bronze and one in black. I am quite happy with the bronze one, but the black one raises a few questions for me.
Firstly, the pin doesn't have a point on it. Secondly, the pin itself is made out of a more soft material, which I can bend with my fingers. The pin receiver is quite inferior compared to the one on the bronze badge. And it seems like the paint scrapes off quite easily to reveal some bronze underneath.
What is your opinion on the black badge? (and the bronze one too)It looks a bit odd to me but perhaps you have seen similar...
Thanks again for taking the time to look, Andreas.

This may be a peculiarity of the M1/36 (I have them as Berg & Nolte) miniatures. The one I used to own had the same kind of upside-down "J" catch albeit without the blunted pin. Perhaps this badge was once ripped from clothing and then repaired by bending the pin back into an approximation of its previous form. This may have left the pin protruding too far into the catch leading to it having to be shortened.
