These are a bit of a minefield as you'll know but Wim Saris had at least one definite original (at a time when only four originals were known) and he says here that the gold colour should be as on yours which is a positive start. I have no experience with these buckles and so can't help further unfortunately.

Thanks for the info Gary. As always I did not spend much $90.00us so if its not real it will display nicely until replaced. If its good I might have got another great deal.

I Always like these golden HJ leaders buckles, when being okay.
You got it for nearly nothing.
I sold my golden buckle, which I received from the concern's of
Dicke managing chief in the 1970's. It came straight from his desk.
The buckle was sold for a lot of money in the early 1980's - so
far I can remember - to a "silent" US buckle collector, who is
hardly known to others.

Photo from about 1981 where the golden buckle is visible in between
a part of my HJ and buckle-collection. A "good eye" can see the card
from Dicke, where it was said it to be a gift:

B-Rad's and Wilhelms buckles do seem to have that same nice deep gold colour. This one was sold by Craig Gottlieb some time ago and it seems pale in comparison...

Look at the lousy gilding of the Gottlieb buckle and you will know if it is okay!

What I am missing with the B-Rad buckle, is the shiny polished lettering and
HJ-diamond. Remember these buckles were highly polished, according to
what is said by the Dicke-employee, which they tried
to archive with the HJ
diamond with the Gottlieb one!

PS: I do not know if the polishing was done also with later produced buckles,
but anyway with those from the late 1930's.
