Hello everyone!
Thread dedicated to showing photographs from my archive. I will show pictures when possible.
This is the first. I bought this very interesting portrait a few months ago.
I can't read what is written.
I hope you like it.

An expressive photo.
I have tried to make it a little more readable and come to this conclusion:
The top line is a dedication:
Für Arbeit und Treue. For work (done) and loyalty.
Signature: something like Stinglmayer, so clearly southern German - Bavarian or Austrian. Behind it the abbreviation Bf., Bannführer.
The date: Ostern/Easter 37.
At least that is what I interpret from it ;-).

Hi Jack,
thank you very much for the help with this.
Your prodigious ability is invaluable.

Thank you Kanonier. I am always pleased if this knowledge, which unfortunately I can hardly use otherwise, is of use to someone here ;).

Well done again Jack. With your info from the signature I went to my leader lists and this could be Bannführer Ludwig Stinglwagner. He was the Bannführer of Bann B3 Augsburg (from 1936 Bann 338 Augsburg) between 1933 and 1.8.1939. He was promoted to Oberbannführer in 1937.

Great, Garry, that you are able to reveal not only the name but even the Bann. Yes, it could also be Stinglwagner; I always go by probability when it comes to what is difficult to decipher. And honestly, Stinglwagner is such an unlikely combination of name parts that I would never have even considered it lol.
The promotion to Oberbannführer also fits perfectly. As we know, promotions usually took place on 20 April - Hitler's birthday - or on 9 November, the anniversary of the Beer Hall Putsch. Easter Sunday in 1937 was on 28 March, so he was still Bannführer at that time.

Garry and Jack, I really appreciate your comments.

On the back of this photograph we can see the place where it was obtained.
Amazing!

It was agreeable to get this photograph that presents several very interesting details.
What is the tinnie that is below the HJ Deutsche Arbeiter-Jugend badge?

Nice :thumb: I've tried to bring out some detail on the badge. Hopefully someone will recognise it.
