The aim here is to compile lists of all known Wehrertüchtigungslager (WEL - HJ pre-military training camps). This thread includes an ongoing list of WEL that existed in 1942 and others created after 1942, a complete list as at 29.5.1943 and a list of known Reichsausbildungslager (this list is not dated but has been culled from various sources).

If anyone comes across or has any additions for the list please add them!

Hi Gary,
The one I went to in Dec1943/Jan 1944 was in Austria, and if I remember it well, was called Millstattersee. There was another nearby, i think called Seebliek. The closest city nearby was Spittal (or so)

Have you seen this Descheg clip at all? A part of it deals with the Wehrertüchtigungslager Millstättersee (Footage of the Lager begins at 2:38):

Der Abt. Ia des Befehlshabers der deutschen Truppen in Dänemark.

15.3.44:
Vom Höheren Kommando Kopenhagen für das Wehrertüchtigungslager Köge beantragte Waffen
konnten nicht zur Verfugung gestellt werden.

2.11.44:
Seit dem Aufruf des Volkssturms ist die Verlegung der Wehrertüchtigungslager der H.J. im
Einsatzfall nicht mehr notwendig. Die Angehörigen bis Jahrgang 28 können zum Kampf
eingesetzt werden. Die Landesgruppenleitung verlegt die Wehrertüchtigungslager, um die
Jungen im Einsatzfall besser einsetzen zu können.

Von der Insel Bornholm ist das Wehrertüchtigungslager der Marine-H.J. zu verlegen.
Entsprechende Anweisung ergeht an Admiral Skagerrak.

There was also a WE-Lager in Heks, Belgium, But I don't have much information about this WE-Lager.

The Wehrertüchtigungslager Millstättersee that you have added seems to be the same camp as WEL Seeblick.

The only mention of the Milstätter-camp in this forum seems to be the movie, you refer to (which can now be seen here: https://archive.org/details/1943-04-xx-Descheg-Monatsschau-Nr.14) ...but the same clip was used for the week-review movie here: http://archive.org/details/1943-05-19-Die-Deutsche-Wochenschau-663 ... where the location is called Seebooden (eg, where Seeblick was located ...).

I don't know if this info is relevant in this thread, but: The Seeblick/Seeboden camp seems to have been transformed from a work camp for the Wolfsberg Tunnel: it has the same name and possible same (exact) position, according to the accessible image-sources.
The tunnel-project was postponed due to the war, around 1941, and the tunnel partly transformed to an underground Messerschmitt factory (!), according to local history-sources: http://www.seeboden.at/fileadmin/dateien/Chronik/Der_Wolfsbergtunnel/Der_Wolfsbergtunnel.pdf

Sorry for my late reply - but I can't see any documentation for more than one camp in the documents, which by no doubt still is fantastic documentation (!). The first one seems to be a kind of report from a combat-exercise of some kind ... the first map shows the position of the WE Lager (in fact one of the positions I suspected after some research in pictures from the area: https://www.google.dk/maps/place/98...2!3m1!1s0x4770bcc1b4259e57:0x46b943e54675bd3b). The other map is positions of a prisoner camp and a airplane factory, possibly just to the west of the first one, where the stream splits into three ...

Can one tell where the camp was just me? I can not find a city under Greibensee.
