Tie or scarf ?

i have only two guesses for this, either they did not tie the scarf correctly, or a civilian bought tie. not exactly sure, very interesting.

Well, the seller's description is made-up and based simply on what he sees. He uses the word "Leiter" too which is not the correct word for a HJ/DJ leader unless of course he has a higher appointment which I doubt this chap had. Anyway, the neck scarf remained in use until the end of the war - if the kids could even get one of course. Towards the end uniform items were in extremely short supply or simply unavailable. Ties were used as part of the higher leader uniform but that was already the case prior to 1941.
