Hi I have just purchased this badge and have noticed some differences from other Hoffstatter badges.Noticebly the maker mark on the reverse is in a different position and the stippling effect on the obverse.Is this just a variation or have I landed a fake?All opinions much appreciated.

This was on an auction site recently. Taken in April 1933 only 6 months after Potsdam (boy in the middle has his badge on) and before the major reorganisation of July/August. Nice early uniform details.

Harry Mönnich (born 11.5.20) joined the DJ on the 1st of November 1931 and when his ID document was issued on the 8th of March 1932 he was registered as DJ member number 6081. Nice early ID and I suspect that he would have changed the original photo for this one after attending the Potsdam...
