About that amazing picture. I really think it is end of the war and it is pure propaganda, dont forget, so I guess that everyone must "show a nice face", even Axmann was smiling in the famnous pictures/videos of the condecorations outside the bunker.
Being serious now. I am not very into uniforms, but there are s good mix in that picture. Just like the mix in the pic outside the bunker. With Wehrmacht cap, Luftwaffe jacket (could it be flakhelfer?), etc.Maybe they are not part of the same unit, but looks like the typical "mix" of the end of the war. Could it be they are part of the special antitank unit that Axmann created?
At the beginning of the war, or even in the good times, the HJ who participated in the conflict (ten of thousands) were part of the army, so I dont think they were wearing their uniforms once in a permit.
It just a thought.
