Did I get burned again? While checking my tinnies over after getting took on my Potsdam badge I noticed something odd on my 1.Franken Ostmark Treffen tinnie. The back looks fake from what little I know about them. At least different from any in my books or on the internet.
Opinions please!!! I purchased it from Huesken about a year ago.

Yeah I would have to go with reproduction. Ive seen many and none ever had a back like this. Just looks like a poor casting or something.

The one I show you comes straight from a veterans son I know..
This ones is 100% genuine.

Thank you. This looks like the ones I am seeing. Nice piece with a history connection for you.

As mentioned, the example in the first post is a reproduction. Many collectors refer to these as Polish or Eastern European fakes. Whether the original tinnies are stamped tin or solid examples, all of the fakes have a soft strike with flat details to the back. You can find various examples if you search several of the reproduction militaria websites.
