As always, a bit of historical background: the portrait of a ruler depicts the first German Emperor Otto the Great (1036-72) in the form of the Magdeburg Rider/Magdeburger Reiter, a life-size monument from the 13th century that can be enjoyed in Magdeburg. Therefore, Mittelelbe is a perfect fit.
