"Deutsche Jugend - Her zu uns!" was a typical slogan of the "Deutsches Jugendherbergswerk" under the rule of the National Socialists.
This propaganda was and is very well known.
In my home town of Bad Zwischenahn, there was also a unit of the "Marine-HJ", the boys and girls sailed and rowed in small boats on our so-called " "Zwischenahner Meer", the local "Jugendherberge", with a small harbor for sailboats etc. still exists.
The old building, and the little "port" are points of memory for the local people, but I don't want to elaborate on that, it wouldn't make sense.
We children also grew up there when we were young, with sails and oars, those were very happy childhood years, decades after 1945.
