I am attaching a picture of mine. As far as I know there are two different ones.
One with a larger F and one with letters of the same size.
I have no doubts about mine, but there are said to be many and good fakes about the others.

Essentially, the badge itself was always the same (silver stitching according to the regulation) but the backing material used was governed by the colour/type of cloth to which the badge was going to be attached.
I have never owned an example of the badge and so can't add anything useful on whether any particular example is real or fake though.
